Why Concrete Countertops?

Concrete countertops occupy a different design category than quartz or granite slabs. They're custom-manufactured to your exact dimensions, edge profile, and color — there's no slab to work around. They can incorporate integral drain boards, integral sinks, custom edge ogees, and inlaid materials. For designers who want a surface that's genuinely one-of-a-kind, concrete is the only material that delivers.

Kitchen Countertops

Kitchen concrete countertops are typically cast as flat slabs 1.5" to 2.5" thick, reinforced with fiberglass and steel, then ground and sealed to a smooth, food-safe surface. Islands, peninsulas, and perimeter runs can all be cast to match. Undermount and farmhouse sinks are commonly cast integral to the slab — eliminating the seam between countertop and basin.

Bathroom Vanities & Vessel Sinks

GFRC is particularly well-suited to bathroom applications. Vanity tops with integral basins can be cast as thin as ¾" shell construction, keeping weight manageable for floating vanity installations. Vessel sinks — freestanding bowls — are another specialty: concrete's thermal mass feels warm to the touch compared to porcelain, and the color options are far broader.

Outdoor Kitchens & Bar Tops

Concrete is the natural material for outdoor kitchen counters and bar tops — it handles heat, UV, and moisture better than wood or most composites. We recommend a penetrating sealer plus topcoat for outdoor applications, and we apply the sealer at the factory before delivery. Integral color stays stable in direct sun; we avoid dyes that can fade.

Edge Profiles

Edge profiles are formed directly in the mold — no post-casting routing required. Standard options include eased, beveled, ogee, dupont, waterfall, and flat-face. Custom profiles can be milled into the mold for an additional setup charge. Thickness can vary within a single piece — a thicker drop edge with a thinner field, for example.

Sealing & Maintenance

Concrete countertops are sealed before delivery. We use penetrating sealers for a natural matte look or topcoat sealers for a glossy, more stain-resistant surface — client choice. Concrete will develop a patina over time; most clients consider this a feature. Annual re-sealing is recommended for kitchen applications.
